Media Intelligence Analyst (Contract, 30hrs/week)

Media intelligence platform that uses AI to monitor and analyze radio and TV broadcasts. We help organizations track mentions, extract insights, and stay informed about what's being said in local media.
The Role
You'll be the critical link between our AI systems and real-world content quality. Your feedback directly shapes how our AI agents improve - from transcription accuracy to how we identify topics and extract entities from news broadcasts.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated transcripts, segments, and extracted entities against source content
- Identify systematic errors and patterns that inform AI agent improvements
- Create and refine evaluation criteria and quality benchmarks
- Document edge cases and ambiguous scenarios to improve AI training
- Collaborate with engineering to prioritize AI improvements based on impact
- Track quality metrics over time and report on AI performance trends
- Test new AI agent versions and provide structured feedback before release
- Contribute product insights based on content patterns you observe
Requirements
- Based in Puerto Rico
- 2-4 years in journalism, PR, media production, content QA, or editorial roles
- News junkie - you follow current events and understand how news cycles work
- Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of local media landscapes (stations, public figures, political context)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Analytical mindset - you see patterns, not just individual errors
- Self-directed; comfortable owning your workflow with minimal oversight
- Clear communicator; can articulate "why" something is wrong, not just "what"
Ideal Background
- Experience with media monitoring (at a PR agency, in-house comms, or monitoring service) - you understand what clients need from monitoring data
- Background in news production or broadcast media
- Experience with AI/ML products or providing feedback on automated systems
- Familiarity with transcription, captioning, or content moderation
Details
- 30 hours/week, flexible schedule
- $30/hr
- 1-month trial period, with potential to extend
- Hybrid (Puerto Rico) - up to 2 days/week in-office collaboration
- Independent contractor arrangement
